Useful does not always mean suitable for business access
Before repurposing a phone, check whether it still receives security updates and whether the battery is in safe condition. An unsupported device is not a good place for business accounts or sensitive information.
For a business-owned device, ask IT before changing its role or transferring it. Back up what is needed, remove accounts and management appropriately, and follow the approved erasure or recycling process.
